CORRECTIONAL OFFICERS VS. CHILD TRAFFICKING

Please Support Florida's Correctional Officers and The Thin Silver Line Alliance as they team up to raise money to support Operation Underground Railroad (O.U.R.) in the fight to end Child Trafficking.

O.U.R.'s Ops Team consists of former CIA, past and current law enforcement, and highly skilled operatives that lead coordinated identification and extraction efforts. These operations are always in conjunction with law enforcement throughout the world. In the United States, O.U.R. develops relationships with law enforcement agencies and offers resources to expand and amplify their anti-human trafficking and exploitation efforts. O.U.R. believes that through collaborations between the public and private sectors, they can protect more children from exploitation and trafficking. O.U.R. fights to protect children in our own backyard from trafficking and exploitation by providing cutting-edge, specialized tools for law enforcement.

According to the National Human Trafficking Hotline, Florida ranks third in the country, behind California and Texas, as the state with the highest amount of human trafficking. Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody is dedicated to ending human trafficking throughout the state and has been relentless in pursuing efforts to do just that. In 2014, the Statewide Council to End Human Trafficking was created through legislation that was passed and signed into law. The 15-member Council chaired by Moody, builds on existing state and local partnerships working to combat human trafficking. Members of the council include law enforcement officers, prosecutors, legislators, as well as experts in the fields of health, education and social services.

While law enforcement is having success in Florida fighting human trafficking the problem of human trafficking remains a huge problem. Traffickers earn an estimated $150 billion annually worldwide in illegal profits, while NGOs and governments worldwide spend about $124 million annually to combat this crime.

Ultimately, trusting in God, supporting and encouraging our partners in law enforcement, engaging in continual communal and individual prayer and securing vital financial support of groups like O.U.R. is the only way we can win the war against child trafficking.
